Not to be missed...

Our area is home to many local events throughout the year.


Flea markets and fairs are to be found on sunny days in almost all the towns and villages in the area. You'll find a huge range of things on sale, ranging from the old to the new. The flea market calendar is available on request from our Tourist Offices — don't hesitate to ask! The most famous is undoubtedly the fair at Echassières, which takes place every year on July 14. The market fair at Ebreuil which often marks the arrival of summer tourists in the area. Throughout the summer months and beyond, antique fairs, brocantes and flea markets are to be found throughout the entire department.


The “Festival des Musiques Vivantes”, is a famous classical music festival which takes place from mid June to mid July. This year, for its 30th anniversary, a variety of concerts have been organised throughout the Vichy-Auvergne country, with eleven concert dates. To celebrate 30 years of the festival, Music Vivantes hopes to offer the public some souvenirs of its greatest moments. Without too much nostalgia, and with an eye to the future, a photo exhibition will be set up at each of the events where the work of photographer Christophe Darbelet, who followed the 2012 Festival, can be seen.

The program is also available in the network of Tourist Offices.


Open air theatre, put-on each year by the Lugdunum and AlambiCréations theatre companies, attracts ever bigger crowds to each performance. This year a play by Molière takes pride of place - Médécin Malgré Lui - which will be played on several dates.


This 2013/2014 season will see the opening of the “Veillés de Pays”, a series of cultural events held in private homes, organized by the association L'Espiagaou Egaré. Running from 11 October 2013 to 24 May 2014, reservations can be made at the .

Reservations will be with Pays Vichy-Auvergne Tourist Office.

The Espigaou programme


The “Ecolette” event, held each year, allows families, and schools to discover the outdoor physical activities offered in our territory. It takes place over several days for schools, and the following Sunday is open to the general public. Almost all activities are free!

Finally, to close the summer season this year, we welcome the first edition of the “Festival en le Château de la Mothe”. On the programme — a regional market and medieval attractions!
